Definitions of Classes

Wee Folk:
Children that are ages 4 to 5 years of age.  Exceptions can be made upon evaluation.

Beginners:
This class is for children 6 years and above that have never taken Irish Dancing.  We have tried to make exceptions in the past for children who had taken other dance forms and move them up to this class; however, this has not worked.  Irish Dance is a lot like reading and if you skip the basics or don't master them it is much harder to correct it later on.

Intermediate I:
This class is for children that have had at least one year of Irish Dance.  There is no pre request to get in this class.  This is for the children who are here to have fun.  This class does not require daily practice.

Intermediate II:
This class is for children that have had at least one year of Irish Dance.  In order to be in this class, your child must be able to identify and complete, without stopping, a Reel, a Jig, and a Slip Jig (Slip Jig for girls only).  Attendance is mandatory since this class will move at a fast pace and Deanna can not repeat what she taught the previous week if you miss a class.  You can schedule a private lesson to catch up on the missed class.  Your child MUST practice at home to retain their steps.  This class requires dedication and commitment.

~*~*~ SUMMER CLASSES ~*~*~
If your child is taking summer classes and you would like them to be in the Intermediate II class, please let Deanna know so she can set up to evaluate your child.

If your child is NOT in summer classes and you would like them in the Intermediate II class, please contact Deanna for an evaluation.

If your child wishes to perform at the performances, Summer Class is a requirement to do so.

 Advance Beginner (Novice I):
This class is for children that have had at least two years of Irish Dance.  In order to be in this class, your child MUST be able to identify and complete, without stopping, a Reel, a Jig, a Slip Jig (again the Slip Jig is for girls only), a Hornpipe, a Treble Jig, and a Treble Reel.

Novice:
MUST have completed Advance Beginner (Novice I) prior year.

Private Lessons:
Deanna does give one on one lesson to any child who request them.  This is a 30 minute lesson to define what your child needs help concentrating on. A fee is charged and my be different based on location.
